Frequently-Asked Questions about the next Annual Job & Resources Fair

Q. Which employers will be available at the Fair?
A. See our list of past participating employers.

Q. How many copies of my resume should I bring?
A. Bring 20 copies.

Q. Will the employers be hiring at the Fair?
A. Typically no. Employers view these events as opportunities to share information about their businesses and to educate job seekers about the types of skills needed for current and future openings. Oftentimes, the job seeker is encouraged to follow-up and apply via the company’s usual channels.

Q. How long should I plan to stay at the Fair?
A. There will be a number of separate resource and employer tables. Even if you spend only a few minutes talking with each one, that could result in a couple of hours talking with the representatives. If at all possible, you should plan on being present from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., depending on how many and which employers you plan to talk with.

Q. Is there a list of companies known to hire older workers?
A. No – but you can safely assume that the employers attending the Fair are interested in mature workers.

Q. Is there any admission charge?
A. No – admission is free.
